Unfortunately, we have no funding for a 2012 spring semester contest.
If we are able to run a contest in the fall for the 2012-2013 academy year,
we will post the information as soon as possible

Engineering Challenge:


Submit an original design for technology that will further Space Exploration & Development

Accepted areas for technology development
(based on the Exploration Technology Development and Demonstration (ETDD) Program):

• Autonomous Operations

• Entry, Descent and Landing

• Human Factors

• Power/Propulsion including for operation in space and on other planetary bodies

• Robotics (not related to in-situ lunar samples)

 

Note: Students may NOT enter the same technology or design that they use for other NASA contests such as Luna-botics or RASC-AL. All entries for SpaceTech should be original and not based on work for other NASA contests.

Free Pro/ENGINEER Software License from Parametric Technology Corporation
A free license or seat of Pro/ENGINEER Schools Edition 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software is available to all students that enter the contest.  Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC) manufactures the software and will provide one license to each university student that declares a entry to the contest.  The corporation has made this offer in the hopes of improving student’s ability to use the program, thus improving the engineering skill set of the future workforce. 

Please note:  The use of Pro/ENGINEER is not required for contest participation, nor is NASA endorsing the software or its manufacturer.
